Adoption Process
Please understand, I take great care in assuring our Labrador Retrievers go to good homes and for that reason I do not sell puppies online.
You can email me with questions, but I will need to speak with you directly prior to making any commitments and I will require a meeting in person as well.
The questionnaire below will help me in determining the right fit for your lifestyle as well as what is best for our puppies.
Prior to completing the form, please download and read the "Terms of Sale and Health Guarantee" form.
If you would prefer printing and mailing the questionnaire, please click here. NOTE: The form below is best viewed on a desktop computer.
AnamCara Rules of Seven
Here at AnamCara Retreivers, the focus is on early puppy development. The neurological, physical and social skills that help make a well rounded puppy, and later mature dog, begin from the minute a puppy is born.
The Rule of 7’s increases your puppy’s exposure to things they may encounter in the real World. The goal is that by the time you pick up your AnamCara Puppy they can be confident and ready to explore their new world with their lifelong companions!
By the time a puppy is seven weeks old, he/she will have:
-
Been on seven different surfaces: carpet, wood, grass, dirt, gravel, concrete, newspaper and have moved from one surface to another.
-
Been in seven different locations: kitchen, living room, laundry room, bathroom, crate, car etc.
-
Met and interacted (played) with seven new people: children, adults, older adults, babies, folks with assistive devices etc.
-
Been exposed to seven different types of noise(s): T.V, radio, blenders, vacuums, washing machine, dogs barking, people entering or leaving the door etc.
-
Played with seven different types of objects: big balls, little balls, fuzzy toys, squeaker toys, ramps, buckets, tunnels, boxes, cardboard items, etc.
-
Been exposed to seven different challenges: climb over a board, into/out of a box, go through a tunnel, up ramps, down ramps, go in and out of dog door, run around the puppy fence.
-

-
Been in seven different scent activities: dog treats, “find the dog food”, duck wing smell and retrieving , scent behind cabinets, hidden treats in toys, track the duck scent, cooking smells, etc.
All of these activities have a purpose – to assure the puppy you bring home is well adjusted, socialized and prepared for its new home!
